High Strength
Gearbox castings are made of ductile iron, which has a tensile strength of more than 500 MPa and a yield strength of more than 320 MPa. Compared with traditional gray cast iron, the strength of ductile iron is increased by about 30%, which is more suitable for high-strength working conditions. For example, the transmission gearbox of an engineering vehicle or the gearbox of a mining machinery needs to withstand great torque and impact force in an environment with heavy loads and frequent start-stop.
Corrosion Resistance
Using 5% sodium chloride solution and conducting a continuous spray corrosion test at a constant temperature of 35°C, the aluminum alloy surface showed no obvious corrosion spots or oxidation damage for more than 1000 hours, while traditional cast iron showed severe rust in about 200 hours. This proves that aluminum alloy gearbox castings have extremely strong corrosion resistance, especially suitable for marine engineering, chemical equipment and high-humidity corrosive environments.
Lightweight
The density of aluminum alloy material is 2.7 g/cm³, which is only 35% of cast iron. A standard-sized aluminum alloy gearbox casting weighs 8-10 kg, while a cast iron casting of the same specification weighs as much as 22-25 kg. The weight reduction not only improves the overall efficiency of the equipment, but also reduces energy consumption by 15%-20%, which is particularly suitable for the automotive and industrial machinery and equipment fields.
Heat Dissipation
The thermal conductivity of aluminum alloy is about 150-180 W/m·K, which is three times that of cast iron (about 50-60 W/m·K). This allows the aluminum alloy gearbox to quickly transfer the heat generated during the operation of the equipment to the outside air, reducing the operating temperature of the equipment by an average of 10-15℃, effectively reducing the failure rate caused by overheating, and ensuring long-term efficient and stable operation.
