Steel butterfly valve castings are butterfly valves produced by casting process, and their valve bodies are mainly made of cast steel materials. Butterfly valves are valves used to control the flow of fluids in pipeline systems. Their opening and closing parts are disc-shaped butterfly plates, which rotate around their own axis to achieve opening and closing or regulating functions.

High Strength
Steel butterfly valve castings are made of high-strength high-quality cast steel materials. Taking WCB carbon steel as an example, its tensile strength is as high as 485 MPa and its yield strength is about 250 MPa. In contrast, the tensile strength of ordinary gray cast iron is usually only about 200 MPa, and the yield strength is lower, only about 130 MPa. This means that steel butterfly valves can operate for a long time in high-pressure pipelines (such as 16 MPa working pressure), can effectively resist external force impact, and greatly reduce the risk of rupture or deformation.
Corrosion Resistance
Steel butterfly valve castings are made of high-quality cast steel materials, such as stainless steel (304, 316) or acid-resistant steel, which have high corrosion resistance. For example, in a 10% concentration of nitric acid environment, the corrosion rate of 316 stainless steel is less than 0.002 mm/year, while the corrosion rate of ordinary carbon steel can be as high as 0.1 mm/year. This makes the casting suitable for highly corrosive scenes such as chemical and marine environments.
Sealing
The fitting error between the valve plate and the valve seat of the steel butterfly valve casting is strictly controlled within 0.01 mm, and the leakage rate is zero under high pressure (16 MPa) and low pressure (0.6 MPa) conditions. Compared with traditional valves, the sealing performance of steel butterfly valves has been improved by 30%-50%, which can not only reduce the safety hazards caused by the leakage of high-risk media (such as chemicals, steam or flammable gases), but also reduce resource waste.
Convenient Operation
Traditional gate valves rely on the up and down movement of the gate to complete the opening and closing, and usually require multiple rotations to fully open or close the gate. The steel butterfly valve casting can complete the opening and closing action by rotating the ball around the axis 90°, which shortens the operation time by about 40%, greatly improving the operation efficiency.
