Corrosion Resistance
Stainless steel marine parts have strong corrosion resistance due to the addition of 2%-3% molybdenum. The annual corrosion rate in 5% sodium chloride solution is only 0.02 mm, while the corrosion rate of ordinary carbon steel is as high as 1.3 mm. This corrosion resistance enables it to maintain mechanical strength and structural integrity even when exposed to high salinity and humidity in the marine environment for a long time, ensuring the safety of the ship.
High Strength
The yield strength of stainless steel marine parts is about 205 MPa, which is much higher than the yield strength of ordinary carbon steel of about 150 MPa. This high strength makes it particularly suitable for manufacturing components such as mooring piers and anchors that need to withstand high loads. It can effectively resist deformation and fracture under high stress conditions, thereby improving the reliability of ship operation.
Easy To Clean
Stainless steel marine parts are precisely polished to a surface roughness of 0.4 μm or even lower, while the surface roughness of ordinary carbon steel or galvanized steel is usually above 1.0 μm. This ultra-smooth surface greatly reduces the adhesion of marine dirt, salt and algae, allowing the cleaning cycle to be extended to once every 12 months, while ordinary carbon steel parts usually require cleaning and maintenance every 3-6 months.
