Brass Valve Castings

Brass valve castings are valve parts made of brass alloys composed of copper and zinc through a casting process. During the casting process, liquid brass is poured into a pre-prepared mold and cooled and solidified to form valve parts of the desired shape. This type of casting is widely used in water supply, heating, gas and other pipeline systems.

High Strength
Brass valve castings are made of high-quality copper-zinc alloy and have high tensile strength. For example, the tensile strength of HPb59-1 brass can reach 295 MPa, which is nearly 50% higher than that of ordinary cast iron materials (tensile strength is about 200 MPa). This means that brass valves can effectively resist the impact of internal media in high-pressure pipelines, avoid valve body cracks or damage caused by continuous high pressure or sudden pressure fluctuations, and improve the reliability and safety of equipment.

Corrosion Resistance
When the brass surface comes into contact with air or water, an oxidation reaction occurs to form an oxide film, which can effectively isolate further erosion from external oxygen and corrosive substances. The annual corrosion rate of ordinary brass in a freshwater environment containing chloride ions is less than 0.005 mm, which is 5 times lower than the corrosion rate of ordinary steel, so it is suitable for water supply systems, marine environments and chemical industries.

Sealing
Brass valves are equipped with polytetrafluoroethylene sealing rings, and the leakage rate is less than 10^-6 cm³/s in the pressure range of 0.01 MPa to 10 MPa. In practical applications, this sealing can effectively prevent natural gas leakage, maintain the pressure stability of high-pressure steam pipelines, and ensure lossless transportation in water supply systems.
